What is kept, and where

This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, loads no fonts or images from third parties, and there is nothing to accept.

Visits are counted by Umami, self-hosted on the same server as Skyvera: no cookies, no IP address kept, no tracking from one site to the next. It knows a page was read, never by whom.

If you write to the address below, your message and your address land in an ordinary mailbox and go no further.

The app has no account: no name, no address, no password.

If you turn the evening word on, the server keeps a notification token issued by Expo, the coordinates of the place whose sky you want, the town's name when you picked one, the hour you want to be told at, your language, and a record of which evenings a word has already gone out, so you are never written to twice.

Without the evening word, nothing about you is stored at all: the app asks for the sky over a place, the server answers.

Coordinates go to Open-Meteo, which supplies the weather for your night. The notification token goes to Expo, which hands the notification to your phone. That is all.

Nothing is sold, traded or used for advertising. There is no tracker in the app.

The app asks for your location so it knows whose sky it is talking about. Or you name a town, and it asks for nothing.

The place you choose is stored as given. The result of the calculation is shared between neighbours on a grid of about a kilometre: two people in the same quarter read the same night.

In the app: Settings, My data, "Forget my sky". The token, the place and the record of what was sent leave the server at once, with no questions and no form.

If you have already uninstalled it, there is nothing left to do: a row that has gone quiet is deleted by itself after ninety days. The same happens if you simply turn the evening word off and never turn it back on.

The date at the top changes with it. No change ever retroactively brings into being data that was not being stored before.
